Company Background
Zonke Monitoring Systems (Pty) Ltd (ZMS) was formed in July 2000 in anticipation of the National Gambling Board’s call for the implementation of a Central Electronic Monitoring System (CEMS) for the limited payout machine industry in South Africa. ZMS responded to the National Gambling Board Request for Proposal and successfully tendered for the appointment as the CEMS Operator. The monitoring of LPMs began in June 2003, with Mpumalanga being the first province in South Africa to go live. To date, five additional provinces, Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng are live on the CEMS, with the other provinces expected to roll-out in the foreseeable future. To date, more than 6000 machines are linked to the CEMS.
ZMS was appointed as the agent of The National Gambling Board of South Africa in 2001, in terms of which it is contracted to develop, operate and maintain the Central Electronic Monitoring System (CEMS) to manage and monitor the Limited Payout Machine (LPM) industry in South Africa.
