ZMS in the picture! A brush of kindness
Not only did the Zonke staff bring with them smiles and joy, but a host of tools, paint brushes and implements to refurbish the Institute.
Based in Meadowlands Soweto, Ithuteng Caring Institute is a non-profit organisation that offers home-based care, educational programs on HIV/AIDS and care for the aged. It is also a Drop-in-Centre for orphaned and vulnerable children.
Over fifteen ZMS staff and family members dedicated their time during the weekend to make the caring institute look like home again. There is nothing like a fresh coat of paint to uplift the spirits of others, especially for those in need of care, who feel abandoned and forgotten, and for them to know and remember that someone still cares.
“The entire home, including the exterior of the living quarters required a good coat of paint, and looked rather neglected and the people were in need of good living conditions,” said Violet Bogoshi, project co-ordinator of the Corporate Social Responsibility project.
“The kitchen and dining areas also required a total overhaul. Paint, new floor and wall tiles added the touch,” she added.
In addition, ZMS procured chairs and tables to make the place more livable in providing a good dining experience for the tenants. A new gas stove and new cooking utensils were also provided.
“On behalf of the ZMS Board and shareholders, please accept my sincere thanks for a job well done, the time graciously offered that you could have spent with your friends and families. It is caring and unselfish gestures like
these that demonstrate the dedication, kindness and commitment of our people. I trust that you were all touched and blessed by what you saw at the centre and hope that this will not be the last time you partake in this kind of initiative,” said CEO of ZMS, Mr. Hosea Malope.
This is not the only project ZMS will get involved in. ZMS continues to better the lives of others by providing cash injections into various projects in all the provinces that it is operational.
ZMS strives to continuously dedicate time and resources to help and empower those less fortunate.
